What is the First Time in a Fancy Cafe trend?
In a bare concrete cafe, someone sits on a little round metal thing fixed to the wall, knees up, sipping coffee and looking quite pleased with themselves. Then another customer walks in, sits on the bench and puts their cup on the identical thing. It was a table the whole time. The caption says it all: "POV: your first time in a fancy cafe."
This template makes it with your pet. The video follows a depth map of an AI pet version of the clip, so the sip, the entrance, the side-eye and the climb down land where they do in the trend; the breed, face, ears and fur come from your photo. Add a second photo to make your other pet the one who walks in; with one photo, that animal is made up. Dogs and cats each follow their own reel, so a cat moves like a cat. Premium renders the whole ~21 seconds; Balanced renders 15 seconds with the whole gag in it. It plays and downloads with the trend's sound, or you can turn the song off and pick the sound in TikTok or Instagram.
Dog or cat
Same cafe, same gag. Pick the one that matches your pet.
Dog
Your dog on the table and an elegant poodle in a blazer on the bench, or your second pet in the blazer. Also for rabbits and other pets.
Cat
Your cat on the table and a fluffy long-haired cat with a pink bow on the bench, or your second pet.
What the template recreates
About 21 seconds from one fixed camera. Balanced renders 3.5–18.5 s, from just before the entrance to the moment your pet sits down.
- 0–5.5 s
The perch
Your pet sits on the little wall table, knees up, sips its coffee and looks around like a regular.
- 5.5–10 s
The entrance
An elegant animal strolls in with a coffee, sits on the bench and sets its cup on the same little table.
- 10–14.5 s
The side-eye
Your pet doesn't move. It glances over, glances down at what it's sitting on, and slowly gets it.
- 14.5–17 s
The climb down
An awkward scramble off the table onto the bench, cup placed on the table as if it was always there.
- 17–21 s
Nothing happened
Both seated, both cups on their tables. Your pet stares straight ahead and acts completely normal.
Where the trend came from
"POV: your first time in a fancy cafe" took off on Instagram and TikTok around 31 October 2026. By 3 November one reel had passed 169 million Instagram plays and the biggest TikTok we found had 9.6 million. Creators rushed to remake it, nearly always in the same concrete cafe with the same two wall tables, and many openly used AI video tools to put themselves in the scene.
Pet versions came within days. The joke works even better with an animal: nobody expects a dog to know what the furniture is for, and a big fluffy one balanced on a tiny table is funny before anything even happens. The biggest pet version we found, a Great Pyrenees with a poodle in a blazer, passed 775,000 Instagram plays in under two days.
Make yours in three steps

Pick dog or cat, add one or two photos
One animal per photo, face to the camera, in good light. Photo 1 sits on the table and photo 2 walks in; with one photo, the second animal is made up.
- 02
Pick a version
Premium renders the whole ~21-second clip: 40 credits at 480p, 80 at 720p and 145 at 1080p. Balanced renders 15 seconds with the whole gag, from 15 credits. Photos are reviewed first and failed renders are refunded automatically.

Play or download it with the sound, or download it silent. Add "POV: your first time in a fancy cafe" as the caption in TikTok or Instagram, then post.
Pet photos that work best
Face clearly visible
Eyes, nose and ears sharp and toward the camera: the side-eye is the whole joke, so the face has to read.
Good light
Daylight or a bright room. A dim photo makes dark fur muddy against the concrete.
Show the whole pet if you can
Your pet is on screen head to tail, so a full-body photo gets its fur, markings and shape right. A clear head shot still works.
Add the caption when you post
The video comes without text, so you can write it your way. "POV: your first time in a fancy cafe" is what people search for.
Got a cat? Pick the cat version
It follows a cat's body and movements. Dogs, rabbits and other pets use the dog version.
One animal per photo
Two pets in one photo, or a person holding the pet, make it unclear who should be on the table.

FAQ
A viral POV clip: someone in a minimalist concrete cafe sits on a tiny wall-mounted table thinking it's a stool, until another customer uses the same thing as a table. They climb down and act normal. This template makes it with your own dog or cat.
Open this page, pick the dog or cat version, add one or two pet photos, pick Premium or Balanced and generate. No filming, prompt or editing. The video takes a few minutes and comes with the sound; add "POV: your first time in a fancy cafe" as the caption when you post.
A table. The little round metal disc on a bent pole looks like a stool, so the first customer sits on it. When the second customer sets a cup on the identical one, it becomes clear it was a table all along. That is the whole joke.
The trend took off on Instagram and TikTok around 31 October 2026 and has been widely remade; Know Your Meme describes it as a series of AI-generated video memes and we couldn't trace the very first post. The dog and cat clips on this page are AI videos by other creators, and our template follows their moves and timing, not their animals.
"Oh Yeah?" by Steve Lacy, the title track of his 2026 album. Instagram lists it as the sound on the biggest reel of the trend.
Yes. Your video plays and downloads with the trend's sound. Prefer your own? Turn "Include the song" off or use "Download without music", then pick the sound in TikTok or Instagram when you post.
Cats: the cat version, which follows a cat's body and movements. Dogs and other pets: the dog version. Pick it in the form or on the cards above. Either way, breed, face, ears, fur and markings come from your photo.
One animal, the face sharp and toward the camera, in good light, ideally showing the whole body. It doesn't need to be in a cafe or holding anything: the cafe, the table and the coffee are generated.
Yes. Add two photos: photo 1 perches on the table, photo 2 is the elegant one who walks in. With one photo the second animal is made up: a poodle in a blazer in the dog version, a long-haired cat with a pink bow in the cat version. A dog and a cat together work too; pick the version for the pet on the table. Very different sizes can look less natural. There are no people in the video.
Not on this page: this template takes pet photos only.
About 21 seconds with Premium, as a vertical 9:16 MP4; Balanced renders 15 seconds, from just before the second animal walks in to the moment your pet sits down. Both work for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
