What is the It's My Life dog trend?
The It's My Life dog clip is a 15-second split screen. On top, a dashcam rolls down a sunny highway with mountains ahead. Below, a German shepherd sits belted into the passenger seat and sings along to the chorus of "It's My Life", whips its head round, stares straight ahead with its mouth shut while the song plays on, lets the driver put a pair of black sunglasses on it, and belts the next line. The joke is the timing: it sings exactly when the song needs it and keeps a straight face in between.
This template puts your own pet in the passenger seat from one photo. The video follows a depth map of the clip, so the head whip, the long stare, the hand with the sunglasses and the last line land where they do in the original; your pet's breed, face, fur and markings come from your photo. Dogs, cats and other pets all work. The render itself is silent; the song is added in your browser when you play or download it.
What the template recreates
All 15 seconds of the clip, beat by beat, with the mouth open only where the dog sings.
- 0–4.75 s
The chorus
Your pet sings along, mouth wide, head bobbing to the beat.
- 4.75–5.25 s
The head whip
A sudden turn to face the road, mouth snapping shut.
- 5.25–10 s
The deadpan stare
Mouth shut, barely moving, while the song goes on without it.
- 10–11.25 s
Shades on
The driver's hand reaches in and puts black sunglasses on your pet.
- 11.25–15 s
The last line
Sunglasses on, head up, your pet belts the next line to the end.
Where the It's My Life dog clip came from
The clip went round X in late October 2026. We couldn't find who filmed it first. The song is Bon Jovi's "It's My Life", the lead single from the 2000 album Crush, and the clip uses the chorus.
You'll see it called the It's My Life dog, the singing dog in the car, or the dog with sunglasses. With AI you can make your own pet's version without a car, a dashcam or a dog that sings: one photo is enough.

Pet photos that work best
Face clearly visible
Eyes, nose and mouth sharp and toward the camera: your pet sings and stares straight at the lens.
Head and chest
Your pet sits upright in the seat, so a photo that shows its head and chest gets its size, fur and markings right.
Good light
Daylight or a bright room. The car is in full sun, and dark photos blur black fur and faces.
One animal
One pet per photo. Two pets, or a person holding the pet, make it unclear who takes the seat.
